lulworth cove - dorset

A paisagem é do melhor, o mar e a praia doutro mundo.

Lulworth Cove is a cove near the village of West Lulworth, on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Dorset, southern England. The cove is one of the world's finest examples of such a landform, and is a tourist location with approximately 500,000 visitors a year, of whom about 30% visit in July and August. It is close to the rock arch of Durdle Door and other Jurassic Coast sites.

Durdle Door is a world famous geological wonder, with its massive rock arch, set right on the Jurassic Coast between Swanage and Weymouth, just along the coast path from Lulworth Cove, it is absolutely beautiful.

Man O’War beach is a very popular beach of sand and fine pebbles on the east side of Durdle Door. The Man O' War and the Door shelter the beach providing safe bathing in shallow water.

Lulworth Castle, built in the early 17th Century as a hunting lodge, became a country house at the heart of a large estate. Thomas Howard, 3rd Lord Bindon, built the Castle in order to entertain hunting parties for the King and Court. The Howards owned it until 1641 when it was purchased by Humphrey Weld, the direct ancestor of the present owners.

Recomendamos:

Lulworth Lodge – hotel onde ficamos duas noites, recentemente renovado, bom quarto, excelente jantar e pequeno almoco:
We stayed 2 nights for Easter and the experience was great. Nice room - remodelled - quiet, clean and nice beach decoration. The breakfast was 5* and the girls were very attentive, extra point for the chocolate easter egg hidden under the breakfast mug on easter sunday :) :) we also experience dinner and the food was amazing, congrats to the chef. Sandwiches are also available upon request to take out the next day for lunch. There's not a lot of tv signal but the wifi works fine and in the end we are there to relax. The only thing i would say about the room is that the hot water could be hotter, it is hot but not that hot, at least for me (room 7) and the breakfast could be at least until 10, 9 is too early. You also get a free parking ticket for all the parks around the Cove for the duration of your stay. The hotel is definitely recommended!

A comida foi excelente e o preco normal – a experimentar o lobster and crab burger.

Lulworth Cove in Restarant – marcamos jantar aqui na segunda noite:
We booked dinner for Easter Saturday - the restaurant was full but we did get our table on time and staff was nice (we know they have been working for more than 12h by then and can't fault them). The food was great and the bill was not expensive at all. The ambience is good with the big candles on the tables and we were quite warm. If staying the night in Lulworth Cove I would recommend booking here for dinner - the afternoon drinks outside in the sun were also a good experience, especially if you have dogs, they are welcome in and out.
