Maidenhead During the Great War

O Maidenhead Heritage Center organizou uma caminhada guiada para assinalar o centenário da grande guerra e o impacto da mesma na área. Nem mesmo a chuva deste sábado de manhã demoveu o grupo e a caminhada de 2 horas foi um sucesso. Os voluntários do centro tinham a lição estudada e fiquei sem dúvida a saber mais um bocadinho da história desta cidade.

Tony and Virginia from the Maidenhead Heritage Centre told us the story of how Maidenhead transformed to meet the challenges of the darkest days of the Great War. Today´s 2 hour walk was really interesting and we now know a bit more about our lovely town. There´s another scheduled walk this week (Tuesday 17th November at 10.30am) and I would definitely recommend you joining, don´t worry if it is raining or cold, stick with it and a warm "surprise" is expected at the end ;)
