nos bastidores do Notting Hill Carnival

Nao sou fa, fui uma vez e jurei para nunca mais. Na minha unica experiencia fui empurrada, amassada e fiquei ganzada com o que por la se passava. A maior parte do ingleses com quem falo tambem nao vao ou nunca foram mesmo. O nome Carnaval engana, na versao que todos nos conhecemos, pois na verdade aquilo é mais uma festa jamaicana que outra coisa, mas ha gostos para tudo, e Londres tem eventos para todos :)
Este ano passei na zona no dia anterior ao Carnaval e quem parece nao gostar da festa sao os moradores pois aquilo mais parecia que a 3' guerra mundial ia rebentar, por isso ha que tapar com tabuas, plasticos e grades as casas, lojas e pubs.

The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that since 1966 has taken place on the streets of Notting Hill, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, each August over the August bank holiday (Sunday and Monday). It is led by members of the British West Indian community, and attracts around one million people annually, making it one of the world's largest street festivals.

Not my kind of event, but this is London, and London has a bit of everything for everyone. My advice, give it a go one year to see if you like it or hate it:)
