Calas de Mallorca is a resort on the east coast of the island, approximately 70km or 44 miles, away from Palma and the airport. Is part of the municipal district of Manacor and the nearest inland town is Felanitx.
Calas de Mallorca has three small sandy coves called Cala Antena, Cala Domingos Gran and Cala Domingos Petit. The largest of the three beaches is Cala Domingos, which does carry the European Blue flag for cleanliness, but at a little less than 100m wide it can become very crowded and does have strong undercurrents. Cala Antena is smaller and less crowded and the sea is quieter.
The resort has a reasonable selection of bars and shops concentrated at the Centro Commercial, enough for the everyday essentials and souvenirs.
During the summer months, the Calas Express road train runs between the beaches but you can also take the coastal path which is cut into the cliffs - it is a lovely walk with sea view. Daily buses also run over to Palma (we took the 415 for 18£ each/return trip, going at 9am and retuning at 16pm).
